Last night and early this morning, lake effect snow began falling on Battle Creek and the surrounding area. Take a little extra time today when you travel around. Allow extra time for breaking at intersections, and be sure to not only remove snow from your windows, but also your break lights too so other drivers can see you stopping!
I went over to the little park across from the hospital yesterday, and took a few photos of our feathered friends in the half frozen pond. Some were swimming, and others were standing on the thin sheet of ice. Looking at this photo, it seems a bit surreal to see the contrast.
Did you know that turtles have a house? As a Realtor in Battle Creek, I did not know this until I went to the Binder Park Zoo and checked out the turtle exhibits. Every seen a turtle house? Well here it is! Consider this another zoo moment:
I love going out to the Binder Park Zoo occasionally, and walking around with a camera and taking photos. The last time I went there it was raining, and and so my visit had to be cut short. Recently I was driving through downtown, and saw they had ice sculpture carvings on display in Mill Race Park in downtown. I was not able to get by there and get some photos this year, but I thought that being that it is January, and cold, I should at least share some photos of ice sculptures from previous years.
